What to include
Include the app version, device model, iOS version, steps to reproduce the problem, and what you expected. Remove private details from screenshots. Do not send passwords, access codes, or a full backup unless we have discussed why and how to share it safely.
Inventory and photos
ColdShelf has one Fridge, one Freezer, and one Pantry. For a missing item, check its location and out-of-stock status. For a missing photo, let import finish, check free storage, and reopen the app before trying again.
Barcode lookup
Product-name lookup needs internet and uses Open Food Facts. Missing or incorrect matches can be entered or corrected manually. A match does not confirm ingredients, allergens, freshness, or food safety.
Reminders
For missing local reminders, check ColdShelf’s iOS notification permission, Focus settings, and the item’s date or out-of-stock settings. Use packaging and your own food-safety judgment.
Sharing a grocery list
Share grocery-list text by message or email, or save it to your chosen destination. Review contents and recipient first. Household sync is unavailable; a shared list is a separate copy.
Backup and cleanout recovery
Keep a recent JSON backup in a safe location before a major change or device move. The checksum helps identify damage or changes to a backup file; it does not make the file private. Avoid manually editing backup files.
Cleanout has a recoverable local backup. Recovery can be refused if newer changes would be overwritten. If that happens, stop making further changes, keep the backup, and contact support with the message you see. Do not uninstall the app as a first troubleshooting step because local data could be lost.
If the app stops responding
Reopen ColdShelf, check free storage, and restart the device if needed. Preserve drafts and backups. If the problem continues, email the steps and a redacted screenshot. Support cannot retrieve local information it does not hold.
