Medical disclaimer

OTdex provides educational and reference information only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment and does not replace individualized assessment or the judgment of a licensed clinician. Clinical use, including exercise programs and precautions, must be reviewed and selected by an appropriately licensed clinician for the individual’s needs, medical orders and circumstances. Students must use the material under appropriate clinical supervision.

Clinical decisions must stay within each person’s professional role, scope of practice and required supervision or delegation. OTdex does not authorize independent practice outside those limits.

OTdex’s own guides and collection reports are professional education and reference resources for the app user. They are not intended as patient materials, patient-specific instructions or prescribed treatment plans.

Third-party documents originally authored as patient handouts retain their original labeling and licenses. An appropriately licensed clinician must review a document’s suitability for the individual before using it with anyone.

Read the Terms and Medical Disclaimer for more about professional use and third-party sources.

What to include

A few details help us understand what happened:

Please do not send patient-identifying information, passwords, payment card details or other sensitive information. Your message and any attachments will be handled as described in the privacy policy.

Report a content concern

If a reference seems inaccurate, unclear or out of date, include its title, the passage or image in question and the reason for your concern. A source link is helpful when you have one.

For an attribution or rights concern, identify the resource and explain the issue. You do not need to include patient information to report a concern.

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. OTdex does not require registration or an account.

Can I use OTdex offline?

Reference content available inside the app can be used offline. Opening an external source website, sending email or using a sharing destination may require an internet connection.

Where are my saved references and collections?

Saved-reference information and collections are stored locally on your device. OTdex does not automatically synchronize them with an account. Device backups and any copies you export are managed separately.

How can I remove saved information?

In My Library, swipe a saved reference and choose Remove, or turn off its Saved setting. This removes the reference from your saved list and all collections. Deleting a collection removes only that collection; changing a collection membership removes only that membership. There is no delete-all or reset-all control.

What happens when I share something?

A JSON library backup contains saved-reference metadata and collection organization, without clinical reference text. Separate individual or whole-collection PDF reports can include permitted reference text, citations and safety context. Restricted or unavailable items receive citation or availability notes. Preview the report, then choose Save to Files, Share or Print. The destination you choose handles the content under its own privacy practices.

How do I create a reference report?

Open the relevant collection screen and use its Actions or report menu to choose an individual or whole-collection PDF report. Reports follow the collection’s saved order. Generation takes place on your device and can be cancelled. Review the preview, then choose Save to Files, Share or Print. Save produces a PDF or a folder containing the report and required separate attachments; Share supplies separate files; Print submits separate documents, with required context companions first. These reports are professional resources for the app user, not patient instructions or treatment plans.

Why are some resources separate files?

Protected publisher handouts remain byte-for-byte unchanged when export is permitted, with required context documents supplied separately. They are not merged into generated reports. If required source context or permissions are missing or have changed, the affected operation is blocked. Printing also depends on the document’s permissions. Read the original labeling and complete source context; a clinician must review suitability before use with an individual.

Are exported files removed when I close the preview?

OTdex attempts to clean up temporary export files when you dismiss the export or leave the view. Cleanup is best effort, not secure deletion. Saved exports, printed copies, recipient copies and copies in cloud or device backups cannot be recalled by closing a preview or deleting information in OTdex.

What does clearing a downloaded reference pack remove?

It removes the downloaded reference content, including active and previous content copies. Small version and integrity records remain so the app can handle updates and withdrawals correctly. Original files you imported, exports, shared or printed copies, and provider backups are not recalled.

Does a missing-term request send my search automatically?

No. OTdex prepares your current query for sharing. You choose whether to send it and where.

Can support help with a patient-specific clinical question?

This support address is for the app and its reference content. OTdex does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Patient-specific decisions require the assessment and judgment of an appropriately licensed clinician. Students need appropriate clinical supervision.
